Gus Hansen Plays Against Benyamine and CryMeARiver8

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Gus Hansen Full Tilt Poker.net ProGus Hansen played in a $1000/$2000 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo game against David Benyamine and CryMeARiver8. When I started observing he had $59.4k while David Benyamine had $106.2k and CryMeARiver8 had $17.5 in money at the table. Gus Hansen did something that was a simple strategy but I haven’t seen many people pro’s or any players for that matter do it. He left the table with $59.4k and came back with $20k. That means he cashed in $29.4k and kept playing which limited his losses at the table. After a bit of time Qrippoli sat down and joined the game and bought in for 20k.

Gus Hansen was multi-tabling during the session and was also playing in two $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi games. When I checked he had 12k and 8k at the other tables. In both of the games he was playing six handed. In one of the Omaha Hi tables both David Benyamine and CryMeARiver8 were also sitting at the table.

He bought in twice more at the $1000/$2000 but did quite well at the other tables. At the time of this post he has $22k and $47k.

Phil Ivey Plays $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Phil IveyPhil Ivey was playing in a $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi game with 6 other players at Full Tilt Poker.net. I started watching after he sat down and played a couple hands but I am guessing he bought in for 50k (when I began to observe the table he had 53k). It was a high stakes game with most players stacks well over 20k. One player in particular: Daduv4 had $180k!

Phil Ivey won a huge hand against Sapster who in the beginning of the hand had $14,797. Sapster started the hand by raising to $800 while Ivey re-raised to $3000. Sapster called and so did another player at the table… so at that point they were three handed. The Flop was [Ah Qc 8h] and Ivey bet $9,600 and was re-raised all-in by Sapster for an additional $2,197. At the end of the hand the community cards were: [Ah Qc 8h 7s] [2c] with Phil Ivey holding [Ad Ac Ks 3h] giving him a three of a kind aces and Sapster losing with his hand [Jc Th 9d 8d] holding only a pair of 8’s. Phil Ivey won the pot worth $33,191.

David Benyamine another full tilt poker pro was also in the game. He won a large hand against Daduv4 and won $43,990 with a full house. The hand is in the noteworthy hands section of this post.

Juan Juanda Plays Against monkey1001 and sbrugby NL Hold-em $200/$400

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

When I began watching the game the chip counts were Juan Juanda with 47.5k against monkey1001 with 38.9k andJohn Juanda - Team FullTilt Poker sbrugby with 39.4k. I am guessing everyone bought in to the $200/$400 NL Hold-em game with $40k. In the game there were a lot of re-raises for a couple thousand dollars and folds before the flop. It would play out with one player raising to $1400 with another re-raising to $5000 and the original raiser folding the hand.

There was a huge hand between monkey1001 and sbrugby when monkey1001 held AJ when sbrugby had JJ. I have the hand history under the noteworthy hands but basically the the board was: [Ah 7c 6s Jh] [Qh]. Monkeykey1001 went all-in after the turn and there was a quick call from sbrugby who won the hand and raked in a pot of $83,793. Monkey1001 next hand bought in for another 40k so he could stay and play….

Juan Juanda went against monkey1oo1 in a $54k hand. The whole time Juan Juanda was taking a long time to call and after the turn even took time. It seemed like he was holding a weak hand and I think monkey1001 thought that too. Even though after the river when Juan Juanda went all-in for 14k with a board showing [4s 3s 4h 4d] [9d] monkey1001 called right away. He flipped over pocket 8’s against Juanda’s [Td8d] with no chance of winning…. The hand history of this hand is under noteworthy hands. After this hand Juan Juanda bought in for another 40k. He then proceeded to lose another in a couple 7 thousand dollar hands and bought in again for 20k more to make it 40k. At this time the chip counts were: Seat 2: John Juanda ($40,200),
Seat 3: monkey1001 ($79,438.50) and Seat 4: sbrugby ($109,787).

Juan Juanda  won a hand against sbrugby when he slow played his pocket aces. He smooth called before the flop and then called a $2000 raise after the flop. He then bet aggressively after the turn and river. He finally was able to go all-in against sbrugby after a board of [7h Jd As 3c 2s]. Juan Juanda showed pocket aces while sbrugby mucked his hand. This hand is also in the noteworthy hands section of this post.

At this time I stopped watching…so if anyone knows what happened later in this game feel free to leave your commentary in the comments.
