Allen Cunningham, Gus Hansen and Matusow Play HORSE

Monday, July 21st, 2008

AllenCunningham ($50,319.75), Mike Matusow ($16,311.05) and Gus Hansen ($28,789.50) played $1000/$2000 HORSE. Also at the table was CHUFTY ($92,098.25), Boosted J ($20,300) and Confused 1 Here ($39,422.85). They played at ELK a 6 max table at FullTiltPoker.net.

There were a couple good hands that I watched. One of them was between CHUFTY and Gus Hansen. Gus Hansen was betting $2k and was being called by CHUFTY every step of the way. After 7th street Gus Hansen showed three of a kind jacks and CHUFTY mucked his cards and Hansen raked in the pot worth $22,20.

Most of the hands that were played were in the teens.

I was able to watch for a little over 100 hands and then the table broke up. At this time the chip counts were:

Mike Matusow ($13,445.55)
CHUFTY ($89,885.75)
Gus Hansen ($49,918.50)
LoLiNa ($23,496.50)
AllenCunningham ($38,305.75)
Confused 1 Here ($69,903.35)

Gus Hansen was the big winner going from 28.7k to almost 50k while Cunningham and Matusow went down in chips during the same time period.

Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham Play HORSE

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Gus Hansen ($66,710.50), AllenCunningham ($72,691.75) played $1000/$2000 HORSE againstfrog22 ($7,190.25) Confused 1 Here ($49,500) and Phil Ivey ($43,501…who sat out most of the game). During the game John Juanda sat down with $20k. Along with Hoss_TBF and CHUFTY.

I had high hopes for the poker game thinking it was going to have a lot of high stakes hands. I was a little let down as players were sitting out and most of the hands were in the teens. With less then a handful being over $20k.

The largest hand of the table was between Hoss_TBF and CHUFTY. They were playing Limit Razz and the pot reached $30,899. Hoss_TBF won showing [5h 4s 9s 6h 7s 2c 4h] 7,6,5,4,2 while CHUFTY mucked.

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Gus Hansen ($251,930) played $2000/$4000 HORSE against Eli Elezra ($70,094), EazyPeazy ($144,972), Rob Hollink ($39,695) and ICallSoWhat ($66,791.50). They played at the Patrik Antonius table at FullTiltPoker.com.

It was a fun game to watching with most of the hands $20k+. Gus Hansen was winning a lot of hands throughout the game and it seemed like he could do no wrong. I saw him collect multiple $30k+ hands and a handful more $20k+ hands.

There were a couple good hands with other players involved including when ICallSoWhat played a hand against EazyPeazy. EazyPeazy ended up winning the hand with a Nine high straight against ICallSoWhat’s two pair (aces and kings). The hand was worth a healthy $53,798.

When I stopped watching the chip counts were:

CHUFTY ($117,345.50)
EazyPeazy ($79,461)
Rob Hollink ($39,373)
Gus Hansen ($283,157)

High Stakes HORSE Poker at Full Tilt Poker

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I was looking for some high stakes tables and happened upon a great HORSE game that was being played at Full Tilt. The players involved were Phil Ivey ($74,989.50), Gus Hansen ($85,085.50), David Singer ($75,491), David Oppenheim ($173,179) and David Benyamine ($91,187). They played at the Patrik Antonius table which is a $2000/$4000 HORSE game.

One top hand that I watched was between Gus Hansen, David Oppenheim, David Benyamine and David Signer.  After 3rd street their was a bet, raise, re-raise and a re-re-raise. On 4th street Gus Hansen bet $2k and was called by both David’s. 5th street was David Benyamine betting $4k, raise by signer to $8k, re-raise by Benyamine to $12k and a called by both Singer and Gus Hansen. 6th street was a bet from Gus Hansen for $4k and a call from both Benyamine and Singer. 7th street everyone checks and Gus Hansen showed two pair, aces and nines while Benyamine and Singer mucked. The pot was worth $80,097. After the hand Singer added $100k to the table.

There were a lot of 30k hands which made the game pretty fun to watch. I have a bunch of hands below that does a pretty good job with the best hands of the table. After I watched for 50+ hands Phil Ivey was the bigger winner…when I first sat to watch the table he had about $75k but when I left he had $179k…not bad for about 45min of work?

Other chip stacks at the table:

David Singer ($80,578)
Eli Elezra ($54,798.15)
Gus Hansen ($106,566)
David Benyamine ($114,017.75)

Gus Hansen, David Benyamine and Patrik Antonius Play HORSE

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Gus Hansen ($21,400), David Benyamine ($17,094) and  Patrik Antonius ($35,419) played $1000/$2000 HORSE at the ELK (6 max) table at FullTiltPoker.net.

With three players at the table the action was flying. There was lots of pre-flop betting and some large 3 way pots. One of the hands that was interesting was a Limit Stud H/L hand that was constantly raised then re-raised until the pot ended up being $57,600.  It was 3 way action but was a two way split with Benyamine winning the Low with a pair of 8’s while Patrik Antonius took the high with a flush. This meant that both players basically split Gus Hansens  (he mucked at the end) chips.

Well I wasn’t able to watch for too long because 45 hands after sitting down to watch Hansen and Antonius sat out. At that point the chip counts were:

David Benyamine ($32,682)
Patrik Antonius ($61,212)
Gus Hansen ($0), is sitting out

It was a pretty fun table to watching with most of the hands in the high teens.  One of the first hands I watched was a hand between Nick Schulman and Gus Hansen. Schulman won the hand with two pairs (eights and sevens) against Gus Hansens pair of threes. The hand was worth $37,000.

Gus Hansen, David Benyamine Play Pot Limit Omaha Hi

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

Gus Hansen ($18,794) and David Benyamine ($71,641.50) played $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi against LoLiNa ($10,198), Urindanger ($37,286), the guru 11 ($83,321), Cole South ($92,092). They played at the Full Tilt.com table “Brookview” a 6 max table.

The first full hand that I watched was a good one with LoLina winning a $20,794 pot. Urindanger got a 10 on the river giving him two pair but to no avail. LoLina was dealt pocket aces but had no need for them once the board showed 3, 6, 4 giving her a straight.

The game was a fun one to watch with a good amount of high stakes hands with the very next hand a $39k pot that Gus Hansen won. It got much more exciting when after two hands Cole South went all-in for $76k in addition to the $7k he already had in the pot. It was called by David Benyamine. The hand ended up being worth $132,680 with Benyamine winning with full house, Queens full of Twos against Cole South’s full house, Twos full of Fours.

The table basically broke up after about 35 hands…the chip totals were:

  • David Benyamine ($102,374)
  • LoLiNa ($14,892)
  • Gus Hansen ($65,267)
  • Urindanger ($41,791)

Gus Hansen ($17,265.50) played $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi against halibut2 ($72,447), natso2 ($13,788),Urindanger ($15,400), Eric Liu ($56,481) and Luck123 ($8,197). The table was “Eginton”, there were 2 other $200/$400 pot limit omaha hi games going on with Gus Hansen sitting at another one and Eric Liu and Benyamine playing at the other tables. I picked this table because like always it had the biggest average pot and everyone wants to see high stakes poker!

Well Gus Hansen ended up leaving the table and David Benyamine and  CHUFTY joined the table. The largest hand of the night went to Eric Liu beating David Benyamine with an eight high straight against Benyamine’s pair of aces. The pot was worth $111,383!

Gus Hansen ($18,593), durrrr ($43,744) and CHUFTY ($6,950) played $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha at the “Panthoen” 6 max table at Full Tilt.net. Also at the table was: The_Houdini ($5,948), MUCKEMSAYUHH ($108,373) and PostflopAction ($13,997).

I usually don’t post incomplete hand histories but the first hand I watched I really felt like I needed too. It was a hand between Gus Hansen and MUCKEMSAYUHH. MUCKEMSAYUHH had a straight while Gus Hansen had two pair with the community cards showing [3c 2c 6s 2d Qs]. MUCKEMSAYUHH won the pot worth $108,373 after going all-in against Hansen after the river card.

Well after 30 hands there was a lot of turnover with Hansen, CHUFTY (sitting out) and durrr leaving the table.  MUCKEMSAYUHH was taking all their money the chip counts at the point I stopped watching was:
