Phil Ivey Plays Heads Up Against David Benyamine

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Phil Ivey ($219,692.50) played heads up against David Benyamine ($111,210.40) at the $2000/$4000 HORSE Patrik Antonius table at Full Tilt.com.

It was a great game to watch as both players are not afraid to play in big hands. When I went through the hand history it seemed like every couple hands there was a $30k+ hand.  The average pot while I was watching was $16k.

One hand between the two was especially good with Benyamine raising after the hole cards and Ivey calling. On the flop Ivey checked and Benaymine bet $2k which was then raised by Ivey to $4k which was called by Benyamine.  On the turn Phil Ivey bet $4k and was quickly raised to $8k and Ivey then re-raised to $12k which Benyamine called.  On the river Ivey bet and Benyamine raised an additional $4k which Ivey called. David Benyamine then showed his hand which was  [Qh Ac 9h 7d] giving him a full house, Queens full of Aces with the board [3h 8h Qd Qs As]. David Benyamine had a really helpful flop, turn and river….Phil Ivey folded at this point not showing his hand and Benyamine raked in the $56k pot.

When the table broke up with Phil Ivey sitting out the chip counts were:
David Benyamine ($226,900.40)
Phil Ivey ($115,588.50), is sitting out
halfdozen999 ($88,398.50)

Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham Play HORSE

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Gus Hansen ($66,710.50), AllenCunningham ($72,691.75) played $1000/$2000 HORSE againstfrog22 ($7,190.25) Confused 1 Here ($49,500) and Phil Ivey ($43,501…who sat out most of the game). During the game John Juanda sat down with $20k. Along with Hoss_TBF and CHUFTY.

I had high hopes for the poker game thinking it was going to have a lot of high stakes hands. I was a little let down as players were sitting out and most of the hands were in the teens. With less then a handful being over $20k.

The largest hand of the table was between Hoss_TBF and CHUFTY. They were playing Limit Razz and the pot reached $30,899. Hoss_TBF won showing [5h 4s 9s 6h 7s 2c 4h] 7,6,5,4,2 while CHUFTY mucked.

High Stakes HORSE Poker at Full Tilt Poker

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I was looking for some high stakes tables and happened upon a great HORSE game that was being played at Full Tilt. The players involved were Phil Ivey ($74,989.50), Gus Hansen ($85,085.50), David Singer ($75,491), David Oppenheim ($173,179) and David Benyamine ($91,187). They played at the Patrik Antonius table which is a $2000/$4000 HORSE game.

One top hand that I watched was between Gus Hansen, David Oppenheim, David Benyamine and David Signer.  After 3rd street their was a bet, raise, re-raise and a re-re-raise. On 4th street Gus Hansen bet $2k and was called by both David’s. 5th street was David Benyamine betting $4k, raise by signer to $8k, re-raise by Benyamine to $12k and a called by both Singer and Gus Hansen. 6th street was a bet from Gus Hansen for $4k and a call from both Benyamine and Singer. 7th street everyone checks and Gus Hansen showed two pair, aces and nines while Benyamine and Singer mucked. The pot was worth $80,097. After the hand Singer added $100k to the table.

There were a lot of 30k hands which made the game pretty fun to watch. I have a bunch of hands below that does a pretty good job with the best hands of the table. After I watched for 50+ hands Phil Ivey was the bigger winner…when I first sat to watch the table he had about $75k but when I left he had $179k…not bad for about 45min of work?

Other chip stacks at the table:

David Singer ($80,578)
Eli Elezra ($54,798.15)
Gus Hansen ($106,566)
David Benyamine ($114,017.75)

Phil Ivey and David Benyamine Play at the Ivey Glue Factory

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Phil Ivey ($180,572.15) played against David Benyamine ($131,393.85) in the $2000/$4000 HORSE table at Full Tilt.com known as the Ivey Glue Factory.  I haven’t seen Ivey sit down at one of his poker tables for awhile so I was happy to see some high stakes action.

They didn’t disappoint and the first hand I watched was worth $36,599.50. Phil Ivey won the hand with a 7 high straight. David Benyamine mucked his hand so unable to know what Ivey was up against.

There were a lot of $30k+ hands but not much above that. At the end of every hand the loser mucked so I am not able to really talk about the hands because its pointless not knowing what the player had that lost. But definitely some good poker action, regardless.

I was able to watch 50 hands before Phil Ivey sat out, at that point the chip count was:

  • Phil Ivey ($159,767.65)
  • David Benyamine ($152,189.35)

Phil Ivey Plays Durrrr in the Ivey Thunderdome

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Phil Ivey Played heads-up against Durrr in the $500/$1000 at the Ivey Thunderdome played at Full Tilt Poker.com. When I started watching the table Phil Ivey  had $193,994 while durrrr $55,999.

Phil Ivey controlled the whole game and won a majority of the large hands. While I watched only 50 hands Durrr had bought in for $100k on top of the $55,999 that he had when I started watching.

The match finally ended when Phil Ivey won a monster pot worth $115,396.50 holding [Js 7d 5d 6c] against Durrr’s [Ks 5s 5c 7c] and the board was: [4c 5h Jh Kd 8s]. Phil Ivey won with an eight high straight against durrrr’s three 5’s.

Phil Ivey Plays at the Ivey Deathmatch against Seda1

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I wasn’t planning on writing two posts today but I couldn’t help myself when I saw the Ivey Deathmatch active with Phil Ivey($622,872.50)  playing against seda1 ($183,487.25).

At one point in the match it looked like Phil Ivey was going to have over $800k with seda1 holding less then $30k in chips… Well it didn’t last long and seda1 won a couple large pots to tip the scales back a bit. There were a lot of large hands in the match with multiple $100k hands! While watching 50 hands at the table I was able to witness 4 hands that were over $100k.

One of the largest hand of the night (that I saw) was a $161,999.50 where seda1 folded after Phil Ivey re-raised $216,000 after seda1 bet $50k. This betting exchanged happened on the turn with the board showing: [3c 9d 7s Tc].

Well the largest hand that I saw was a $188k pot with an all-in after the flop by seda1. The flop was [8s 6h 7d] and seda1 held [8d 4d] while Phil Ivey had [As Ac]! Looks like seda1 is facing a world of trouble at this point with Phil Ivey dominating (61/34)…this didn’t last long though as the turn was a 3 (nothing there) but the river was another 8 and seda1 takes down the hand!

Wow, Ivey couldn’t be happy at this point.

When I left after about 125 hands the chip count was:

  • Phil Ivey ($643,973.75)
  • seda1 ($162,357)

Ivey Deathmatch Against Durrrr

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Phil Ivey - Full Tilt Poker.netPhil Ivey ($68,498.50) played heads up against durrrr ($31,499.50) in the $500/$1000 Ivey Deathmatch. I assume both durrrr and Ivey bought in for $50k because earlier in the day durrr was sitting at the table waiting for Ivey with $50k.

Phil Ivey and Durrr were going back and forth with Durrrr winning a large pot worth $69,997.50 with 2 pair. Then a couple hands later Ivey on a $50k pot with his own two pair. 3 hands later Durrrr won a hand with trip 4’s against Ivey’s KQ and won $95,593.50.

Phil Ivey then bought in for another $50k. The game went back and forth for about 30 hands with no significant hands until Ivey Suffered a huge suckout to durrrr. Durrr had Q5 and Phil Ivey had 310 and the flop was [353]… After the flop there was a raise then re-raise and finally Durrr went all-in. Phil Ivey quickly called and was well ahead at this point until the next card flipped over was a 5! This gave Durrr the full house and the river was no help to either giving the pot worth $72,996 to Durrr.

Phil Ivey bought in for another $50k and then finally won a large pot worth  $105,999.50. In the hand, they both had two pair’s but Ivey’s was the bigger of the two. Phil Ivey then won a $50k pot after re-raising durrr.

When I left the heads up game the chip totals were:

Phil Ivey ($133,794.75)
durrrr ($66,182.75)

Ivey Deathmatch - Phil Ivey Plays NL Hold-em

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($84,498.50) played heads up $500/$1000 No Limit Hold-em against seda1 ($113,981) in the Ivey Deathmatch table at Full Tilt Poker.com.

I sat down to watch the heads up poker match and 14 hands into it Phil Ivey goes all-in after the turn with the community cards showing: [8h 4d Jh Ts] …. The river was a [2c] and Phil Ivey showed [Qd As] against seda1’s [Ah Td] which gave seda1 the pot worth $150,993.50!

At this point Phil Ivey sat out while seda1 stayed at the table with $198,475.50! This didn’t last long as Ivey bought in for another $25k and resumed the poker match. The $25k didn’t last long (4 hands to be exact) when Phil Ivey lost to pocket jacks in a pot worth $53,644.50.

Phil Ivey is not one to give up and about a minute later bought in again with $100,000. The first hand back Ivey raises $6k pre-flop and then after the flop another $14k which is then re-raised by seda1 to $60k and Ivey promptly folds. Phil Ivey then lasted awhile longer until about 60 hands later he lost two $50k hands in the matter of a couple hands and went broke again… Didn’t take Phil Ivey long to get back on the horse and buy-in again for another $100k!

At this point in the match Phil Ivey has at least lost $200k and has $100k more at the table against seda1’s $300k. Well after watching the match for another 100 hands Phil Ivey had $155k while seda1 had $268k. So Ivey was then down only $150k…
