Ivey Deathmatch - Phil Ivey Plays NL Hold-em

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($84,498.50) played heads up $500/$1000 No Limit Hold-em against seda1 ($113,981) in the Ivey Deathmatch table at Full Tilt Poker.com.

I sat down to watch the heads up poker match and 14 hands into it Phil Ivey goes all-in after the turn with the community cards showing: [8h 4d Jh Ts] …. The river was a [2c] and Phil Ivey showed [Qd As] against seda1’s [Ah Td] which gave seda1 the pot worth $150,993.50!

At this point Phil Ivey sat out while seda1 stayed at the table with $198,475.50! This didn’t last long as Ivey bought in for another $25k and resumed the poker match. The $25k didn’t last long (4 hands to be exact) when Phil Ivey lost to pocket jacks in a pot worth $53,644.50.

Phil Ivey is not one to give up and about a minute later bought in again with $100,000. The first hand back Ivey raises $6k pre-flop and then after the flop another $14k which is then re-raised by seda1 to $60k and Ivey promptly folds. Phil Ivey then lasted awhile longer until about 60 hands later he lost two $50k hands in the matter of a couple hands and went broke again… Didn’t take Phil Ivey long to get back on the horse and buy-in again for another $100k!

At this point in the match Phil Ivey has at least lost $200k and has $100k more at the table against seda1’s $300k. Well after watching the match for another 100 hands Phil Ivey had $155k while seda1 had $268k. So Ivey was then down only $150k…

Phil Ivey Plays seda1 in the Ivey Deathmatch

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Phil Ivey was not done for the day and he seemed unfazed by the huge loss to Ziigmund in Pot Limit Omaha earlier in the night. He sat down at the Ivey Deathmatch No Limit Hold-em table against seda1. The chip counts were: Ivey ($201,494)
and seda1 ($182,485.50).

There were a couple $15k  plus hands but the two large hands in the game were both won by Phil Ivey. The pots were $161,999.50 and $99,967.50 both of them were won with trip cards by Ivey. Phil Ivey then won two $50k plus hands to finish off seda1 and at the end Ivey had $470,966.50. (more…)

Phil Ivey vs Ziigmund $500/$1000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Phil Ivey - FullTilt Poker.comPhil Ivey ($282,487.50) played heads up against Ziigmund ($124,499) in a $500/$1000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi game at FullTilt Poker.com. This game was definitely high stakes with each having over $100k and Phil Ivey not messing around with over a quarter million dollars at the table.

At times it was hard to pick the better hands because they weren’t going past the flop and the hands were averaging $12k.

One hand in particular that was insane was a hand that was worth $125,999.50.  Ziigmund started the hand with a raise which Phil Ivey then re-raised. After the flop Ivey bet $14k which was called by Ziigmund.  After the turn Phil Ivey bet $40k which Ziigmund used time and eventually went over the top all-in. Phil Ivey then used time before his call but eventually folded the hand…the board showed: [3h 5s 9d Ad].

The match ended with the biggest hand I have ever written about…Phil Ivey lost with a king high straight against Ziigmund’s Ace high straight. The pot was worth $399,984.50. Phil Ivey sat out of the hand with the final chip counts: Seat  Phil Ivey ($153,464.75) and Ziigmund ($399,984.50)!

Phil Ivey Plays Again…

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

This is the third day in a row I have posted high stakes hands with Phil Ivey. The reason is because he has been in almost every high stakes poker game, and is a popular player, so it is easy for me to pick him to watch. I still write about other high stakes players so don’t worry… this won’t become the Phil Ivey Blog. (Even though I am sure most viewers wouldn’t mind).

Phil Ivey was playing two $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi games. One of the tables was “Eginton” and he was playing against The Lipton Kid, durrr, Luck123, SxMxF and Cacambo. The other table was “Pantheon” and he played against durrrr and trex313. Both tables Gus Hansen was also playing at but he left mid way through.

At the Pantheon Table trex313 sat out and it was Phil Ivey heads up against durrr. Phil Ivey had $60k while durrr had $30k. They were even with about $40k each when I started watching and over the course of about 40 hands Phil Ivey was able to take about $20k from durrrr.

The Eginton Table was a different story. Phil Ivey was playing about even with $40k when I started watching and still $40k after about 60 hands.

Phil Ivey Plays $1000/$2000 Limit Hold-em

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Phil Ivey ($13,979) played against Hoss_TBF ($115,976) at the “Mirasol” $1000/$2000 Limit Hold-em game at Full Tilt.com. I came in the middle of the game and was able to watch 15 hands.

The hands that were played were about $10k each. When I came Ivey was already a ways behind Hoss from a chips perspective. He was never able to come back “I assume he bought in for more then $13.9k” and after the 15 hands Phil Ivey went broke at the table and went offline.

This is in one ofPhil Ivey - Ivey Glue Factory at Full Tilt.com Ivey’s special tables where he always has a seat reserved and gets challengers every now and then. I didn’t come in at the beginning of the game but was still able to see a lot of action and witnesses a few high stakes hands.

After 50 hands Phil Ivey was able to put himself over $300k! He won a lot of $30k hands and had a streak of a couple hands where he made $100k in around 4 hands.  After about 200 hands FinddaGrind was able to take back some of his money and the totals were: Phil Ivey with $265k and FinddaGrind with $103k.

Phil IveyPhil Ivey ($205,593.25) played against FinddaGrind ($94,392.25) in the Ivey Glue Factory a heads up $2000/$4000 HORSE game at Full Tilt.com.

At the same time FinddaGrind was playing against Phil Ivey he was also playing againtLarsLuzak in a heads up match playing $300/$600 Pot Limit Hold-em.
